These Terms are between you and Ken Isaac Tibio, the operator of PURPOSE. By using PURPOSE, you agree to these Terms.
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Accepting these Terms does not replace the separate permission required before PURPOSE sends information to AI services.
1. Overview
PURPOSE is an account-free nutrition journal. Your journal content stays on your device; PURPOSE does not maintain a recoverable cloud copy. You own your journal content. PURPOSE and its original software and branding remain owned by or licensed to the operator.
PURPOSE is licensed to you, not sold. If you downloaded PURPOSE from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) applies to your use of the app, and these Terms add to it. If they conflict, the Standard EULA governs your licence to use the app. If you downloaded PURPOSE from Google Play, Google Play’s terms also apply.
You may create a personal backup; anyone with the file can open it, so store it somewhere private. Restoring a purchase will not restore a missing journal or backup, or unlock an older encrypted backup. See backup help.
2. Eligibility and age
PURPOSE is for people aged 13 and over in supported countries. It is not offered in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. If you are under 18, use it with a parent or guardian’s permission. PURPOSE offers maintenance-only nutrition targets to users under 18, not weight-loss or weight-gain targets.
Use PURPOSE only for lawful personal purposes.
3. PURPOSE subscription
PURPOSE 3 Months is one auto-renewing subscription at ₱299 every 3 months in the Philippines. It includes AI Scan and Ask PURPOSE / AI Coach, subject to reasonable usage limits. There is no free trial.
If verified paid access ends, existing local records remain on your device. AI features require verified access and an internet connection.
4. Billing and auto-renewal
Subscriptions are bought, billed and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews every 3 months at ₱299 in the Philippines unless you turn off auto-renew in the store at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Review the store’s checkout terms before confirming a purchase.
Restore Purchases checks purchases associated with the applicable store account. Subscriptions do not transfer automatically between Apple and Google Play. Restore Purchases does not recover journal records.
Deleting PURPOSE or local data does not cancel store billing.
5. Cancellation and refunds
Cancel through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancellation normally prevents the next renewal and leaves access until the end of the paid period. It does not automatically refund a payment.
Request refunds through the store that billed you, subject to its rules and any mandatory consumer rights. A store refund or revocation may end paid access earlier. See subscription help.
6. AI Scan and Ask PURPOSE
AI Scan estimates nutrition from a meal photo, description or details you choose. Ask PURPOSE responds to questions; optional Personalize replies can include limited relevant context when you enable it. These features require your separate AI permission. You can turn that permission off in Settings.

7. AI and nutrition estimates
Food databases, label reading, calculations, meal estimates and AI responses may be incomplete or wrong. Review an estimate before saving or relying on it. Ask PURPOSE does not automatically log food for you.
8. Feature and provider changes
We may change, limit, suspend or discontinue any part of PURPOSE, including AI features and the providers behind them, at any time. Online features depend on internet access and outside providers and may be unavailable.
9. Third-party services
Apple or Google handles store billing, and Apple’s Standard EULA applies to App Store downloads; RevenueCat helps verify subscription access. Supabase supports online requests. Google Gemini or OpenAI may process permitted AI requests, and Open Food Facts supplies barcode results. Each provider has its own applicable terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for their availability or actions. See our provider disclosures.
10. Health disclaimer
PURPOSE provides general nutrition and fitness information. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or emergency care. It does not guarantee any weight or health result. Consult a qualified health professional about medical concerns, and seek emergency help when needed.
11. Fair use
Do not submit content you lack rights to use, infringe others’ rights, disrupt PURPOSE, bypass access controls or misuse online services. Reasonable AI usage limits may temporarily pause online AI access to protect service reliability; your local records remain available.
12. Liability and your rights
To the extent permitted by law, PURPOSE is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free estimates or a particular health or nutrition outcome. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of data stored on your device. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability, warranties, remedies, privacy rights or consumer protections that cannot legally be excluded.
Philippine law governs these Terms, subject to mandatory protections where you live. These Terms do not require arbitration or remove access to competent courts, regulators or consumer authorities.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when PURPOSE or applicable requirements change. The updated version will show a new effective date, with any notice required by law.
